As a mother of four, Tiffany Burnett does a lot of laundry.

Fed up with commercial detergent’s incompatibility with her high-efficiency washing machine — it left residue and odor, despite repeated washings — she created her own. Inspired by her grandmother’s simple upbringing on a farm, she hand-crafts Clean Slate Suds Washing Powder in small batches at her Oregon City urban homestead.

The powerful, environmentally friendly laundry detergent has no chemicals and no fillers — and therefore no buildup. Each batch contains simple, naturally occurring ingredients, such as sodium carbonate, coconut oil, sodium tetra-borate, sodium hydrogen carbonate and optional essential oils such as lemongrass and eucalyptus, to leave clothes soft, clean and smelling good.

One jar washes 28 standard loads. All-natural stain remover is also available.
